.IT Domain Name Registrations

Introduced in 1987, Italy’s dot IT country-specific top-level domain is quite popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for forming inventive and catchy domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to create an easy-to-memorize domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to return to your website or to give it with associates and friends. The TLD can also be used for a website, which is related to the information technology sector having in mind the fact that IT is an abbreviation, which is in use around the world.

Because .IT domains are not sold directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that administers this top-level domain extension, such a domain can be registered through a third-party domain registration provider, such as ours. You can order a dot IT domain for no more than a year at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our firm and we will renew it the minute the transfer has been done. As there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of different regions and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that consist of geographical regions of any sort are not permitted on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not offer such third-level domains, though, because they can be registered only by locals.
